Can taking birth controll over a period of time make you infertile?

A friend of mine told me that her sister has been to to several different Doctors who have told her that by taking BC pills over the course of 10 years it has made her infertile. I have researched this on the internet and every website i have gone to says that this isnt possible but my friend swears by it. Has anyone else heard of this?
