How much different are your tasks if your in the 75th Ranger Regiment with any given MOS?

I just swore in yesterday, i have an option 40 in my contract so i will be going to Ranger School, however my MOS is 12Y - Geospatial Engineer. Im worried that i will be in a Ranger Battalion doing desk work, and i wont get to go along on operations. I guess my question is will my tasks be different if im in the Regiment?
